Porsche and Ferrari prepare for head-to-head battle in Bahrain

The LMGTE Pro category is the closest FIA WEC championship fight as the legendary Porsche versus Ferrari battle writes a new chapter in its legendary history book.

The third victory of the season for Kevin Estre and Neel Jani aboard the No.92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 last Saturday ensured that the gap to James Calado and Alessandro pier Guidi has been reduced to just one single point heading into the finale.

Should Estre continue his remarkable strike rate of pole positions this season (four from five) then it could be all square heading into Saturday’s day/night race.

In LMGTE Am, it will be a straight fight between the No.83 AF Corse Ferrari and the No.33 TF Sport drivers as they are now separated by 21.5 points.

The TF Sport trio of Ben Keating, Felipe Fraga and Dylan Periera took a brilliant win last Saturday and closed the gap substantially to Francois Perrodo, Niklas Nielsen and Alessio Rovera.

With team and manufacturer battles also all still up for grabs in all but the Hypercar category, the paddock mathematicians will be working overtime in the final hour of this Saturday’s grand finale at the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain.
