2025 FIA WEC calendar revealed: eight rounds as Imola secures multi-year extension
As the FIA WEC continues to go from strength to strength, the 2025 season will see the championship visit eight countries and four continents to consolidate its position as one of the world’s most prestigious motorsport championship.
- FIA World Endurance Championship to continue to consist of eight rounds with events in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East and Asia maintained on 2025 schedule
- Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari [Imola] and WEC promoter sign contract extension for further four years
- Italian circuit commits to improving paddock infrastructure including building extra pit garages
- FIA World Motor Sport Council approves 2025 FIA WEC calendar
A minimum of 14 manufacturers are expected to compete in WEC next year which will get underway in Doha, Qatar, in February 2025. Lusail International Circuit will once again host the WEC Prologue (pre-season testing) and the season-opening Qatar 1812km, named after the country’s National Day, on 28 February 2025.
The championship will then move to Europe for round two at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola), which will take place in late April. The WEC, with support from Imola’s City Mayor Marco Panieri, has signed a contract for the championship to remain at the Italian circuit for an additional four years (until 2028). Proving its commitment to the WEC, Imola has committed to improving paddock infrastructure including building extra pit garages.
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will form the third round of the championship. This will be the 13th running of the Belgian event which has featured in every WEC season since the championship’s inception in 2012. Spa-Francorchamps serves as the traditional dress rehearsal before the series returns to France for its biggest race of the year: the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans (14-15 June).
With continued support from São Paulo’s City Hall, the WEC teams will travel to Brazil for the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo at the Interlagos Circuit in mid-July. The championship will then move to Austin, Texas, for round six at the Circuit of the Americas for the Lone Star Le Mans.
Fuji International Speedway will stage the penultimate round of the calendar with its iconic race at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan. The WEC’s Asian leg has been scheduled for 28 September 2025.
As is tradition in the WEC, Bahrain will once again host the season finale at the prestigious Bahrain International Circuit at the start of November when the 2025 World Champions will be crowned at a glittering awards ceremony.
The 2025 WEC schedule was ratified by the FIA World Motor Sport Council this week.

Mohammed ben Sulayem, FIA President: “Over the last couple of years the FIA World Endurance Championship has been enjoying an incredible period of growth in terms of both sporting level as well as popularity. With this came the calendar expansion and last year the series settled for an eight-round schedule that provides it with both geographical diversity as well a line-up of world-class racing venues to stage the events. It is therefore great news to have the same schedule confirmed for 2025, which for WEC means a stable base on which it can grow even further.”
Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO): “The 2025 FIA WEC calendar is a continuity of 2024, with eight rounds scheduled on the world’s most famous circuits. This season is about stability and exposure in key geographical areas. 2023 was exceptional, 2024 outstanding. In 2025, we shall reach new heights, notably with Aston Martin joining Hypercar. See you next year for another amazing episode in motorsport history!”
Richard Mille, FIA Endurance Commission President: “The 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship calendar can be best summarised by the popular saying – “if it ain't broke, don't fix it”. The eight rounds that we know from this year offer a great mixture of well-established circuits and give the series presence in both Americas, Asia, Europe and in the Middle East, providing the perfect stage for the events of the golden era of endurance racing to unfold. At the same time, being in so many corners of the world is great for the series, for the fans and for the manufacturers involved, giving them the chance to showcase their dream cars at so many markets.”
Marco Panieri, Mayor of Imola: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the city of Imola, as its geographic position at the heart of the Motor Valley, on the famous Via Emilia road, can help promote the local masteries, the Made in Italy, the products of the region like food and wine, and our own promotion project named Terre&Motori. To promote the spirit of Le Mans, the city of Imola and its staff have worked to connect the historic city centre to the race track. Another important factor for us is investment in the race track. Thanks to this event we will be able to improve infrastructure like boxes and the fan zone, making visitors and staff experience more enjoyable. Finally, I would like to say thank you to my local staff and Frédéric Lequien’s staff for their outstanding work.”
Pietro Benvenuti, Formula Imola - General Director: “It’s a great satisfaction to announce, right here in Le Mans, the agreement with LMEM to have the two races - WEC and ELMS, to remain in Imola for the next four years. The great collaboration and mutual respect with Frédéric Lequien and Cédric Vilatte led to the great result we achieved together in 2024 and following this, we reached this important agreement with the fundamental support of the Municipality of Imola and in particular of the Mayor, Marco Panieri. WEC represents an event of great importance for the circuit and the territory demonstrated by the great participation of many spectators in love with the “Spirit of Le Mans” who came to enjoy the race and the Emilia-Romagna Region. This is why we announce that tickets to attend next year’s 6 Hours of Imola are now available on sale and can be purchased on www.Ticketone.it.”
Frédéric Lequien, FIA World Endurance Championship CEO: “The 2025 WEC calendar is about consolidation and creating a schedule that works for both our teams and fans. The WEC is growing at an extraordinary rate but we must remain humble and by maintaining eight rounds, we are listening to our teams, stakeholders and partners by also keeping budget in mind. It is important for WEC to reach as wide an audience as possible and with eight races across five different regions, we will continue to achieve this. We are delighted that Imola has committed to the WEC until at least 2028 - the circuit and city Mayor Marco Panieri have been a tremendous support and this year’s inaugural WEC race there was a huge success, which we look forward to emulating in 2025 and beyond.”
