Alpine Endurance Team latest recipient of DHL Sustainable Endurance Award
Alpine Endurance Team has been announced as the winner of the 2024 DHL Sustainable Endurance Award, during the FIA World Endurance Championship’s traditional end-of-season ceremony in Bahrain.
A joint initiative between WEC, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) and global logistics leader DHL, the Sustainable Endurance Award celebrates commitment to sustainable mobility in both the championship and its flagship race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
A jury made up of sporting and CSR representatives from WEC and the ACO evaluated applications from all teams entered in the series in 2024, assessing their carbon impact strategy, the steps they are taking to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and their innovation with regard to responsible projects that bring positive social and/or environmental benefits.
Alpine follows in the footsteps of fellow French manufacturer Peugeot, with Team Peugeot TotalEnergies the previous recipient of the award in 2023.
Philippe Sinault, Team Principal, Alpine Endurance Team, said:
“It is a pleasure and an honour to have won the DHL Sustainable Endurance Award for the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season. We continually work hard to meet and exceed our sustainability targets, both as a racing team and a manufacturer, and to have this recognised by DHL, WEC and the ACO is a privilege.
“This reward is for the entire Alpine Endurance Team who have worked so hard all year, and they deserve to be congratulated. We are very proud to be leading the WEC field with our sustainability achievements, and look forward to more in 2025.”
Arjan Sissing, Head of Group Brand Marketing, DHL Group, added:
“DHL is the proud Global Logistics Partner of the FIA World Endurance Championship, delivering the championship around the world, and is delighted to present this year’s DHL Sustainable Endurance Award to Alpine.
“For DHL, one of the key challenges in the near future will be the transition to renewable technologies in the energy and automobility sector, which includes renewable energy generation, electric vehicles and batteries, as well as other driving modes, resulting in evolving and more complex logistics requirements. We look forward to developing further projects with WEC and its partners.”
