Congratulations to all the Daytona winners!

The FIA WEC team would like to congratulate all the winners and finishers from another epic edition of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

As the WEC and IMSA officially began its eagerly-anticipated journey of convergence, Daytona recorded a record crowd at the International Speedway over the weekend and what a race it was!

Meyer Shank Racing’s Tom Blomqvist – who competes with United Autosports in WEC’s LMP2 class - drove the pole-winning No. 60 Acura ARX-06 to the overall victory. He crossed the line ahead of WEC regular Filipe Albuquerque in the No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-06. Elsewhere, an intense four-car battle over the final 90 minutes led to the photo finish in LMP2 with Proton Competition (who will also race in this year’s WEC) take the victory by the tiniest of margins (0.016s).

Daytona also marked the first competitive race debut for Porsche Penske Motorsport’s Porsche 963 and the Cadillac V-LMDh – both of which will by vying for victory in the WEC’s Hypercar category this year. Furthermore, the BMW M Hybrid V8 prototype also broke cover in Daytona with the manufacturer set to join the WEC in 2024 with its new prototype challenger.

On behalf of the WEC, we look forward to seeing our friends from IMSA at Sebring in March.
