Endurance Racing’s finest rewarded
It’s awards season and, while the WEC may still be mid-Super Season and 2018-2019 champions are not yet known, drivers past and present have been honoured at awards’ ceremonies.

The British Racing Drivers’ Club, owners of Silverstone Circuit which will be the venue for the opening round of the 2019-2020 FIA WEC season on 1st September 2019, hosted its annual awards in London yesterday.
Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Mike Conway won the ACO Award for the highest-placed British driver at Le Mans in June this year (2nd overall in the No.7 Toyota TS050 HYBRID), while Darren Turner received the impressive Woolf Barnato Trophy which is given to the highest-placed British driver, in a British car, at Le Mans.
Also receiving awards were Rebellion Racing’s Calim Bouhadra, Bart Hayden and driver Mathias Beche for the team’s victory at the 6 Hours of Silverstone on the 27th August this year.
On Sunday night at the glittering Autosport Awards, also in London, endurance racing legend Jacky Ickx was honoured for his long and varied career and received the award from none other than ‘Mr Le Mans’, Tom Kristensen.
