‘Experience and dynamism’ characterise 2025 Peugeot line-up
Team Peugeot TotalEnergies has revealed the composition of its two driving crews for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign, hailing a blend of ‘experience and dynamism’ across the cockpits of its two 9X8 Hypercars.
Peugeot both began and concluded last season in fine form. Having been denied the runner-up spoils in the Qatar curtain-raiser when Jean-Éric Vergne agonisingly ran out of fuel on the very last lap, the French manufacturer raced to consecutive top four finishes in the final two races in Japan and Bahrain to wind up sixth in the Manufacturers’ standings.
Vergne is back for more this year, and will once again share the #93 entry with fellow ex-Formula 1 driver Paul di Resta and Mikkel Jensen, while another rapid Dane makes his FIA WEC debut in the shape of Malthe Jakobsen – a former title-winner in the European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series, and a podium-finisher in-class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 21-year-old rising star will flank the incumbent Loïc Duval and Stoffel Vandoorne in the #94 car.
“We have built our line-ups based on a precise balance between experience and dynamism,” explained Peugeot Sport FIA WEC Technical Director, Olivier Jansonnie. “Mikkel, Jean-Éric and Paul in car #93 bring strong cohesion, proven expertise and great consistency, while Loïc, Stoffel and Malthe in car #94 combine the strategic vision of seasoned drivers with the energy and boldness of a promising young talent.
“Théo Pourchaire, who completed his first endurance tests late last year, completes the 2025 line-up as test-driver for this new season. We look forward to seeing these drivers give their best on the track and to thrilling fans around the world.”
The action will get underway with the Qatar 1812km on 28 February.
