Porsche confirms plans for 2019

After finishing 2nd and 3rd in LMGTE Pro in the recent 6 Hours of Shanghai, and extending its lead in the GT Manufacturers championship race, Porsche headed home to Germany feeling very happy.

The iconic marque has also set in stone some of its plans for the coming seasons including a continuation of its collaboration with Manthey Racing – which operates Porsche GT Team – for the next two WEC seasons.

Also recently confirmed was the next step in the career path of two talented young Porsche drivers – Julien Andlauer (FR) and Jaxon Evans (NZ).
Andlauer, who won in the GTE Am category for Porsche at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, will return as a Porsche Junior for the second consecutive year following a 3-day selection process with 11 up-and-coming drivers at Paul Ricard earlier this month.

Evans, who has not yet run in the WEC, is following in the footsteps of other Australian/New Zealand-based drivers that have succeeded in Porsche’s driver development programme including two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Earl Bamber.  Look out for him, and more from Julien Andlauer, in the future!
