WEC Full Access from the Qatar 1812km, the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship curtain-raiser, is now available to watch for subscribers of the FIA WEC App.
Offering fans a fascinating insight into the stars of the show, WEC Full Access covers everything from team briefings to heated mid-race discussions. It is the ultimate behind-the-scenes series, documenting the most private areas of the FIA WEC paddock.
The Qatar 1812km delivered drama, excitement and intrigue to kick off the new FIA World Endurance Championship campaign – with myriad stories to delve into and digest.
WEC Full Access puts you right in the thick of the action, inviting viewers to join Toyota’s Brendon Hartley and Mike Conway in the driving seat as they get it all crossed-up in qualifying and the race respectively, and Aston Martin’s Marco Sørenson as his Valkyrie’s door blows open – and then off!
The British Hypercar unquestionably won hearts on its competitive debut with its dashing looks and distinctive sound, while another newcomer in Qatar was former Formula 1 podium-finisher Kevin Magnussen, who had the best vantage point at the start of the race as the two Ferrari AF Corse entries ahead of him went toe-to-toe for the lead with no quarter given.
The Dane offers his thoughts on the transition from single-seaters to prototypes, with fellow rookie Eduardo Barrichello able to count upon the on-site support of his father Rubens – the two-time Formula 1 World Championship runner-up his son’s number one fan.
For defending title-winners Porsche and Toyota, it was a difficult day, and things got physical between Porsche and Peugeot late on as Michael Christensen and Loïc Duval engaged in an acrimonious no-holds-barred duel.
Speaking of physical, WEC Full Access also offers a window into the fallout from the calamitous Cadillac clash that removed the two V-Series.R Hypercars from contention for victory. Ride on-board with Jenson Button and Alex Lynn as the pair make contact at the safety car re-start – an incident that official commentator Anthony Davidson describes as ‘the worst nightmare for a team’ – and hear their immediate reactions via the pit-to-car radio.
The ten-hour contest was not without its frustrations for the pace-setting Ferrari trio either, as the raw emotions on the pit wall and tensions inside the cockpit betray just how much each of the three crews wanted to win – knowing only one of them could.
It was no less tense over at TF Sport and United Autosports in the closing moments, as Corvette narrowly fended off McLaren for LMGT3 class glory. The atmosphere inside both team garages was palpable, with the latter’s CEO, Zak Brown, an interested observer as well as a commentary booth guest.
The first instalment of this season’s WEC Full Access series can be viewed exclusively on the FIA WEC App here. It will be published on the championship’s YouTube channel on Monday, 7 April at 20:00 CEST.
