6H Spa: Rebellion fastest in all three FP sessions; Porsche tops GTE Pro times
Below are the main headlines from FP3 at TOTAL 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps which was held in sunny conditions and 24 degrees ambient track temperature.
The session only ran for 30 minutes before being red flagged due to repair work needed at T14
LMP1
- Rebellion Racing posted the first sub 2 minute lap time of the event so far as Gustavo Menezes clocked 1:59.605 in the Rebellion R13 Gibson
- The Swiss team complete all three FP sessions fastest
- No. 7 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 HYBRID second fastest with a time of 2:00.043 set by Mike Conway
- Sister No. 8 car driven by Kazuki Nakajima 0.046s adrift of the leading Toyota’s time

LMGTE Pro
- In LMGTE Pro, Porsche GT Team proved quickest as Michael Christensen clocks a time of 2:14.558 in the Porsche 911 RSR – 19 he shares with Kevin Estre
- Christensen’s time is the fastest GTE Pro of the three practice sessions beating Maxime Martin’s previous best of 2:14.678
- AF Corse Ferrari second and third fastest with No. 51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo 1.615s ahead of the sister No. 71 car
- Aston Martin Racing’s No. 95 and 97 entries fifth and sixth – the cars unable to get enough laps in before the session was red flagged
LMP2
- Racing Team Nederland top highly-competitive LMP2 category with a time of 2:03.170 in the ORECA 07 Gibson
- Category leaders United Autosports second fastest with a time of 2:03.631 with Paul Di Resta at the wheel
- Cool Racing third fastest overall as Nico Lapierre sets a time of 2:05.290s
- WEC newcomers Eurasia Motorsport were fifth with Roberto Merhi setting a time of 2:05.754 in the Ligier JSP217 but later suffering from a spin
LMGTE Am
- No. 83 AF Corse Ferrari set the pace-setting time of 2:16.833 early in the session
- AF Corse’s pace-setting time was 0.518s ahead of second-placed No. 90 TF Sport entry with Charlie Eastwood at the wheel
- Third quickest was the No. 88 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR entry
Qualifying is up next and will begin at 18h00 CEST for GTE classes, before LMP qualifying will follow at 18h30.
