Stevens Going for Gold with Hertz JOTA Porsche

This week’s TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will herald a new car and a true new era for JOTA.

The vividly gold Hertz Team JOTA Porsche 963 Hypercar is set to join the Porsche Penske Motorsport No.5 and No.6 entries at this week’s race for its first appearance of the 2023 WEC FIA WEC season.

Anticipation is high for the Will Stevens, Yifei Ye and Antonio Felix da Costa crewed car, which is set to become a striking addition to the 38 car field this week.

Reigning LMP2 champion Will Stevens has been waiting impatiently for his chance to drive the car, which was announced formerly at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last June.

“We've built up to it a lot through simulator work trying to understand the car before we actually get it but now it’s here and it looks fantastic,” said Stevens.

“We had a successful run out with the car at Weissach when it was shaken down recently too. Obviously the weekend is going to be tough, there's absolutely no doubt about it. We've done no testing apart from the shakedown before, so the first time I will drive the car is pulling out the pit lane in FP1.

“But we're up for the challenge. I think as a team, we know each other very well we know the strengths and weaknesses of everybody.”

Stevens added that his expectations are high beyond this first race at Spa, and that the project holds a special ‘motivation to show what this great team at Jota can achieve. We truly believe that we can get results this year."

“At the end of the day, it's now a product that we need to try and develop and also work with Porsche Penske going forward. Spa will just be cool but essentially a big test. We're there to race it should be a good one.”
