Vergne Tops FP3 for Peugeot; Champions Manthey PureRxcing Head LMGT3
HYPERCAR
- The third and final practice session in preparation for tomorrows BAPCO Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain sees Peugeot TotalEnergies top the times for the second time this week
- Jean-Eric Vergne sets a 1m49.443s lap in the No.93 Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar to eclipse the second placed AF Corse Ferrari 499P with Yifei Ye aboard by 0.219s
- Iron Lynx Lamborghini place an encouraging third after Daniil Kvyat peaks on a best lap of 1m50.014s in the green SC63 Hypercar
- Peugeot take fourth position too as the No.94 9X8 Hypercar is taken to a best lap of 1m50.028s by Paul di Resta
- Alpine place fifth and sixth as the No.36 car heads the No.35 entry. Mick Schumacher and Ferdinand Habsburg set the times respectively
- Ferrari AF Corse are also in formation as the No.50 heads the No.51 with Antonio Fuoco and Antonio Giovinazzi taking the best laps
- Continuing the two-by-two theme are the pair of Hertz Team Jota Porsche 963 Hypercars with the No.12 car just outpacing the No.38 machine. Norman Nato and Oliver Rasmussen set the times for ninth and 10th places
LM GT3
- The PureRxcing Manthey Porsche 911 RSR LMGT3 leads the way in FP3 as Aliaksandr Malykhin sets a rapid lap of 2m03.987s for the recently crowned champions
- That time is 0.054s quicker than the No.78 Akkodis ASP Lexus entry driven by Arnold Robin
- No.55 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari places third as Francois Heriau sets a lap of 2m04.076s
- Heart of Racing ensure that four manufacturers fill out the top four positions with the Aston Vantage lapping in a best of 2m04.152s by Ian James
- No.82 TF Sport Corvette is fifth with Hiroshi Koizumi doing the work in the cockpit despite that car having a 5-minute penalty handed out for a full course yellow infringement mid-way through the 600-minute session
- Completing the top six is the No.60 Iron Lynx Lamborghini with Matteo Cressoni setting the best time for the highest placed Lambo
Qualifying is scheduled to start at 16.00 local time/14.00 CET
