WEC Full Access from Lone Star Le Mans
WEC Full Access from COTA, round six of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, goes live on YouTube today (Friday, 13 September) at 20:45 CEST.
Giving fans a fascinating insight into the FIA WEC’s stars of the show, WEC Full Access covers everything from team briefings to heated mid-race discussions. It is the ultimate YouTube series, documenting the most private areas of the WEC paddock.
At the end of a dramatic six-hour contest at COTA, the customer #83 AF Corse-run Ferrari piloted by Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye and Robert Shwartzman pipped the title-chasing #7 Toyota (Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries) to victory by less than two seconds.
Along the way, there was heartbreak for the #51 Ferrari, which looked to be on-course to turn its season around until a mistake by pole-sitter Antonio Giovinazzi resulted in an early bath. Talking of baths, the episode also lifts the lid on the different ways the drivers found to keep cool amidst the stifling Texas temperatures, and the errors that arose from heat exhaustion inside the cockpit.
There was frustration for the Toyota crews, both of which picked up penalties, and joy for Alpine, which secured its best result of the campaign to-date with a fifth-place finish.
Join the teams behind-the-scenes for their commiserations and celebrations with this full access pass to the very heart of the action both on and off-track, and put yourself right in the driver’s seat – complete with in-car radio communication – in one of the toughest races of the season so far...
This latest in-depth episode also features insightful analysis from expert commentator and 2014 FIA World Endurance Champion Anthony Davidson – a multiple podium-finisher at COTA during his own racing career – a special appearance from a former Indy 500 winner, a visit to a local sign-maker and no shortage of cowboy hats...
